High Performance Sport Manager Sport Climbing
As high performance sports manager, you will play a crucial role in the realization of KBF's high performance objectives (top 8 worldwide at World Championships and Olympic Games, top 3 at European Championships) for the Sport Climbing discipline and optional for other climbing and mountaineering disciplines. You are responsible for developing and implementing a high performance sport policy that is closely aligned with our organization’s mission, vision and values. You act as a point of contact for top athletes, clubs, trainers, parents and external partners such as Sport Vlaanderen, Adeps and the BOIC. You work closely together with our French speaking colleagues of CAB.
You ensure the safe and sustainable development of high performance sport climbing in Belgium and contribute to strengthening the top-level sport infrastructure. You also stimulate innovation and optimize the coaching of top athletes. You build a sustainable pathway from grassroots to elite sport.

Responsibilities
- Safety and quality: You create a safe and supportive environment for top athletes, coaches and the interdisciplinary team.
- Elite level sports vision: You develop a long-term vision in which sustainability and performance are central.
- Elite sports programmes: You monitor and optimise high level sports programmes with a view to international success.
- Leadership and coaching: You lead the high level sports technical staff (head coach, coaches and staff) and support them where necessary.
- Innovation and knowledge sharing: You introduce new technologies and methods to improve sport and anchor this knowledge within the organisation.
- Talent development: You organise talent detection and development programmes and build a sustainable development programme with involved athletes and clubs.
- Representation: As team leader, you represent KBF at top (inter)national sporting events and represent the interests of the sport.
Tasks
- Manage and supervise the high performance staff: You assess and support coaches and experts, and promote constructive cooperation between clubs and the technical committee. You delegate effectively and develop an (multi-)annual planning.
- Strategic management: You collaborate with medical, scientific and sports-specific experts to provide top athletes with optimal support.
- Stakeholder management: You maintain contacts with important stakeholders such as the CAB, Sport Vlaanderen, Adeps, BOIC and the international federation(s).
- Cooperation with clubs: You actively involve clubs in the high level sports process and motivate them to create a powerful top-level sports environment within a holistic model.
- Internal cooperation: As the person responsible for top-level sport, you work closely with the entire KBF team and participate in team consultations. The involvement of the coaches is your final responsibility.
- Open communication: You ensure clear and timely communication with all stakeholders (clubs, coaches, parents, athletes) through various channels, in line with the policies of the federation, Sport Vlaanderen and the BOIC. You develop a communication strategy regarding the Belgian Climbing Team and its competition results in cooperation with the communication managers of KBF and CAB and with the coaches.
- Administrative support: You manage the preconditions for top-level sports coaching within the set budget and monitor the planning, agendas, registrations and budget.
- Reporting and financial follow-up: Operationally, you coordinate the high performance sports operation with the general director. Annually, you report the high performance sports operation to the governing body, the general assembly and the relevant agencies.
Je profiel
- Experience in high performance sport: You have experience in top-level sport and can translate this into a policy plan.
- Leadership and communication: You have strong leadership skills to manage high-performance sports staff, including coaches. You have excellent communication skills, both internally and externally.
- Knowledge of the sports sector: insight into the Flemish, Belgian and international sports world is an asset
- Autonomy and responsibility: You function autonomously within a set budget and top sports policy and take decisions independently within your mandate.
- Multilingual: you communicate fluently in Dutch, French and English.
- Passion for climbing and mountaineering: You preferably have an affinity with climbing and mountaineering and actively contribute to our mission, vision and core values.
